This is a self portrait for an article from a different time era. This article recognises my involvement in an historical event. In 1961, I am a citizen of East German who were escaping from Berlin Wall to have a better life. After the government built the wall, I felt scared and I should left this horrible place. As same as other citizens, I decided to leave this place. Therefore, I escaped from Berlin wall by using different method.
The choosing of style is a blurry style which is similar to the artworks in that period. The angle is looking from top to bottom which makes the head is larger than the body. It makes the person look like a weak person. The graffiti in German words can make viewer link to the Berlin Wall. The chaotic things on the floor and the facial expression can show how nervous when the person was caught. The portrait shows how people feel hopeless in this period.
